Melusina is the solo project of Marta Paccara, a multi-instrumentalist who has been active since 2019 in the alternative-rock band TV Lumière. Evolving from a musical journey that began in 2015 under the moniker Nemora Proj., Melusina’s sound in this current phase is defined by ethereal minimalism and cinematic textures. It weaves together vocals, synth-piano, and electronic layers, enriched by sweeping strings and lush reverbs.

Released on September 25, 2026, via the independent label I Dischi del Minollo. The EP L’Eco delivers a fluid and dynamic atmosphere, alternating between vocal and instrumental passages. Exploring the territories of ambient-pop and modern-classic music, the tracks stem from an intuitive approach that prioritizes emotion over academic virtuosity. The project draws inspiration from the intense orchestral atmospheres of Anohni and the Johnsons, Kate Bush’s A Bird in the Hand (or The Sensual World / Words for Snow), and PJ Harvey’s White Chalk. Alongside the dreamlike world of Agnes Obel, the minimalist vibes of early-2000s Alessandra Celletti. The cinematic sound of Yann Tiersen, and the visceral styles of Beth Gibbons and Shannon Wright’s Providence.

Melusina

“L’Ultimo Sguardo” is the focus track chosen to introduce the EP. In this piece, a sparse, drifting piano floats in suspended time, as if trying to hold on to a moment that memory desperately seeks to keep. Then the wave arrives, sweeping you into the current; you have to let go of something that is shifting and already gone. Water dominates the official music video—conceived, directed, and edited by the artist herself—transforming her into a fairy-witch undergoing her metamorphosis. The EP as a whole is a journey of introspection and self-awareness: the poetic echo of a farewell.

The second track, “Panacea”, evokes an ancient term meaning a cure-all for every ailment. It opens with an invocation to Harmony to bring healing, tearing open the sky with intense colors. Expressed here through the musicality of the English language. This is followed by a rearrangement of the opening track. Where the Sguardo (Gaze) is broken down and reassembled like a shattered mirror, exploring further possible imagery. Elucubrazione is envisioned as deep, candlelight meditation, drawing the listener into a slow musical flow where they can close their eyes and visualize their own shadows. The EP closes with the title track, “L’Eco”, which offers a progressive opening, casting the gaze beyond the mountain’s horizon—even if at times still nocturnal—delivering a cinematic final farewell.
